Here is my repetition model which made of triangles and wires. Also hot glue gun (which burnt my hand and it hurts a lot)

Week 8 - Analogical thinking 2

We did not do much this week as our lecturer only went through every student's e-journal and made some reviews. We also shared our different photos of 10 inanimate objects with human characteristics. I'm amazed at how different people see objects differently. Most of my classmates have different ideas and perspectives on the faces. I think that it is honestly an interesting activity.

Week 7 - Analogical Thinking (Exercise 1 & 2)

Analogical thinking is using information from a domain, which is the source to solve a problem in another domain which i the target. Analogies is used during the process of problem solving. Analogies have been involved in many scientific discoveries. It is basically any type of thinking that relies upon an analogy. Which is shown on the first photo.

The second and third photo shows the comparison of two objects. The mouse clicker that is used for computers is compared to a real mouse. While a car is compared to a man's face. Just because the objects somehow look alike.

Exercise 1

Most of the items that are from my familiar environment are made from natural resources like wood. From wood, people uses analogical thinking to create something else. Here are some examples,

Cupboard/Wardrobe

Wood flooring

Bird cage

Exercise 2

3 existing products are flowers, feathers and wood. I notice that most of the sources of creating a product or an item is by nature. Nature plays a huge role in this.

As for flowers there are a lot of things that are inspired by flowers for example,

Flowers table

Flower lamp

Flower purse

Feathers can also be inspired into making items like,

Duster

Accesories

Writing instrument

Lastly will be wood, these are a few table designs made from wood

These are examples of branches being made into tables.

And also pencil holders that are a shape of an elephant but made of wood.
